Feeling shitty? Here is the remedy!


The “OER-techniek” stands for  Slow Dow, Indulge, Relativize. Helen Hoppesteyn thought about this method on a gloomy day (or “shitty day” as she puts it!) to step back from defeating thoughts and recover a positive mood and a constructive attitude. In order to illustrate this 3-step approach, I dug into my huge stack of vintage magazines (dating back up to 1902!) and made this collage. The photos I used here are from the 50’s. Did they need such a “OER-techniek” back then? I guess it would also have come in handy…
